We are getting mighty excited about the Pick Me Up Fair at Somerset House which starts on 18th April (until 28th). Over the next days, we will be scratching a little under the surface of the inspiring workshops scheduled for families and kids happening at the Fair. First up is a workshop based on newspaper writing from a couple of the members of the creative team behind the children’s newspaper The Loop : ‘the magazine that thinks it’s a newspaper for kids’.
The Loop is a quarterly magazine for children aged 9 – 13. It is here to entertain, to inform, to be critical, to inspire and most of all to promote creative thinking. They like to think of it as a magazine that thinks it’s a newspaper, and to that end they have printed it like a newspaper. It looks attractive and functional, fun and informative, in equal measure. The Loop takes its readers seriously and aims to engage them in contemporary global and local issues in an approachable manner.
Furthermore, it offers projects and competitions stretching beyond the page, which can be published and shared with others on The Loop website. You can subscribe to the paper (we are very tempted if even as a gift for a god-daughter) for £18 which covers 4 annual issues including P+P.
Join Claudia and Eleanor from the creative quaterly newspaper for a day of newspaper writing, designing and printing. Aimed at Children aged 9-13 years old.
