For all of you (like us) who feel fluttery and buttery at the thought of an event dedicated to graphic art, design and illustration, you will be happy to hear that the dates have been set, and the booking line open for the PICK ME UP 2013 Festival at Somerset House.
It is billed as the UK’s original contemporary graphic arts festival and will run in April for an 11-day celebration of graphic art, design and illustration. In addition to showcasing and selling original artworks (from just £10) and limited-edition prints from the industry’s elite and emerging talent, each day the festival will be running an exciting and eclectic mix of quirky family workshops, lively evening events and creative forums.

Some of the artists contributing to this year’s programme include Guardian regulars Modern Toss and the award-winning animation studio Aardman, who will host a Shaun the Sheep model-making workshop. I know my pixies will be first in line to get a piece of the Aardman action, as the enthusiasm for Shaun and his wooly friends never seems to fade (see the previous post from this week).
