If you need persuading, a fact for you is 80,000 young people experience homelessness every year… there is a range of ways to get involved, read through the website.

4. British Red Cross. There are four areas for involvement, emergency response and first aid and health and social caremigration services and other volunteering opportunities (including charity shop and fundraising volunteering). Young people can also get involved in all of our services but we also have volunteer opportunities specifically for young people.

5. Crisis at Christmas day centres are safe, warm and vibrant places where you can spend the festive period. With support from over 8,000 volunteers, you can enjoy hot food, a haircut, loads of fun activities and entertainment and get access to healthcare and advice from specialist advisors, plus much, much more. Crisis at Christmas 2013 will open its doors in London from Monday 23 December until the evening of Sunday 29 December.
